Mystery Trip 18 August 2007

With  a full  load  of  45   passengers,  It  was  the  biggest load we’d had for some time.

We saw the construction work in Onewa Road and  went  along the Northern Motorway  getting  off  at  Esmonde  Rd  up  Fred  Thomas Drive along Killarny St and around to Milford Beach and saw where the Pirate Ship and  swimming  pool had been.  We returned through Shakespear Rd  and  went  back on the motorway and over the Harbour Bridge. We had a good view of new bus lane and new bridges at Onewa Rd. Then went through Herne Bay,  Westmere, Meola Rd, to the old Pt Chevalier Tram terminus. Then through Western Springs, Surrey Cres,K  Road, Symonds St, Kyber Pass, left into Parnell Rd to the Winter Gardens for a lunch Stop, then to Auckland Museum , for 3 hours. Traveling next via Ayr St, Shore Rd, Orakei Rd and Allum St, along Tamaki Drive then back through Stanley St, over the new motorway link to the harbour bridge, and home,

Thank you Brian Potter for a  very interesting commentary which kept us informed every step of the way as some of the members would have been quite lost without it.
